Problem

While performing an experiment, a laboratory power supply moved a charge of 250 mC250\,\text{mC} through a potential difference of 4.5 kV4.5\,\text{kV}. (i) Convert both the charge and the potential difference into their proper SI units before calculation. (ii) Calculate the work done by the supply in moving the charge. Give your answer in joules. (iii) Express the given potential difference in base SI units (kg m2 s−3 A−1)\bigl(\mathrm{kg\, m^{2}\, s^{-3}\, A^{-1}}\bigr). (iv) Show, by inserting dimensions only, that the equation you used in part (ii) is dimensionally consistent.
