Problem

At 500 K the equilibrium A(g) ⇌ 2 B(g) has Kₚ = 4.00. In a 10.0 L vessel the system is at equilibrium with P_A = 0.80 atm. The volume is suddenly compressed to 5.0 L at the same temperature and then allowed to re-equilibrate. Calculate the new equilibrium partial pressure of A (in atm, to two significant figures).
