Problem

A thin square sheet of side 0.20 m lies in the yy–zz plane with one edge along the yy-axis. A non-uniform magnetic field exists in the region such that its magnitude at any point is B=kxB = kx, directed along the positive xx-axis, where xx is the perpendicular distance of the point from the yy–zz plane and k=0.40  T m−1k = 0.40\;\text{T m}^{-1}. Using this information, answer the following: (i) Calculate the magnetic flux through the sheet. (ii) How would the answer change if the sheet were rotated about the yy-axis through 90° so that it lies in the xx–zz plane? Justify your reply without repeating the full calculation.
