Problem

Charges q1=+2.0 μCq_1=+2.0\,\mu\text{C} and q2=+2.0 μCq_2=+2.0\,\mu\text{C} are fixed in place. A third charge q3=−1.0 μCq_3=-1.0\,\mu\text{C} is initially at point A, which is 0.80 m0.80\,\text{m} from q1q_1 and 0.60 m0.60\,\text{m} from q2q_2. The charge is then moved slowly to point B, which is 0.30 m0.30\,\text{m} from q1q_1 and 0.90 m0.90\,\text{m} from q2q_2, and finally taken very far away (effectively to infinity). Neglect any changes in kinetic energy. Calculate the total work that an external agent must do to move q3q_3 from point A to point B and then to infinity. Express your answer in joules.
