Problem

While lifting a building material at a construction site, a crane pulls the load vertically upward through a distance of 15 m15\,\text{m}. During this interval the crane is known to have done 2.94×105 J2.94\times10^{5}\,\text{J} of work on the load. (i) Calculate the magnitude of the force exerted by the crane on the load. (ii) Express your answer for force in scientific notation to two significant figures. (iii) If the same force continues to act for an additional vertical displacement of 35 m35\,\text{m}, how much extra work will be done? Express the result in megajoules.
