Problem

A grinding wheel of radius 0.20 m0.20\,\text{m} rotates at a steady rate of 1200 revolutions per minute1200\,\text{revolutions per minute} (rpm). (i) Convert the given rate into frequency in s−1\text{s}^{-1} and then find the angular speed of the wheel. (ii) Calculate the linear speed of a point on the rim of the wheel. (iii) If a paint mark is made on the rim, how much time will it take for the mark to travel a total linear distance of 1.0 km1.0\,\text{km} along its circular path, assuming the speed remains constant?
