Problem
An astronomical telescope has an objective of focal length 1.2m and an eyepiece of focal length 3.0cm. The instrument is used in normal adjustment.
(i) Calculate the magnifying power produced.
(ii) Determine the length of the telescope tube in this arrangement.
(iii) The eyepiece is replaced by another lens of focal length 2.0cm while keeping the same objective. Find the new magnifying power and the new tube length for normal adjustment.
