Problem

Two different radioisotopes are stored in a laboratory. • Isotope A: initial activity 120 μCi120\,\mu\text{Ci}, half-life 8 h8\,\text{h} • Isotope B: initial activity 4.0 MBq4.0\,\text{MBq}, half-life 30 h30\,\text{h} (i) Convert the initial activities of both isotopes to the same unit (Bq) and state which one is initially more active. (ii) Determine the activity of each isotope after 24 h24\,\text{h} have elapsed. (iii) After 24 h24\,\text{h}, which isotope is more active and by what numerical factor is it stronger than the other?
