Problem

A rectangular access panel on an environmental test chamber has dimensions 2.0 m×1.5 m2.0\,\text{m}\times1.5\,\text{m}. During a particular test the gauge pressure inside the chamber varies with time according to P(t)=1.10×105 Pa+4.0×104 Pa sin⁡(ωt),P(t)=1.10\times10^{5}\,\text{Pa}+4.0\times10^{4}\,\text{Pa}\,\sin(\omega t), where ω=π rad s−1\omega=\pi\,\text{rad}\,\text{s}^{-1} and tt is measured in seconds. At t=0t=0 the sine term is zero. (a) Write an expression for the instantaneous magnitude of the force exerted on the panel as a function of time. (b) Compute the average magnitude of the force on the panel during the interval from t=0t=0 to t=2.0 st=2.0\,\text{s}. (c) At what instant in the interval 0≤t≤2.0 s0\le t\le2.0\,\text{s} does the force on the panel reach its maximum value? Justify your answer.
