Problem

Three wires X, Y and Z are connected one at a time to a d.c. supply. X: 6 V produces 0.60 A. Y: 8 V produces an unknown current I. Z: 10 V produces 0.40 A. The resistance of Y is required to be exactly the arithmetic mean of the resistances of X and Z. Calculate the value of I.
