Problem

In a certain series RLC circuit R=40 ΩR=40\,\Omega, L=0.20 HL=0.20\,\text{H} and C=2.0 μFC=2.0\,\mu\text{F}. When connected to an AC source, the current is observed to lag behind the voltage by 30∘30^{\circ}. (i) Derive an expression that relates the driving angular frequency ω\omega to the given phase angle of 30∘30^{\circ} for this circuit. (ii) Calculate the numerical value of the frequency ff (in Hz) that produces this phase difference. (iii) State, with a brief justification, whether the frequency obtained in part (ii) is higher or lower than the resonant frequency of the circuit.
