Problem

A small alternator is required to supply 230 V230\,\text{V} rms at a frequency not exceeding 60 Hz60\,\text{Hz}. The available design constraints are: magnetic field 0.30 T0.30\,\text{T} and coil area 0.080 m20.080\,\text{m}^2. (i) Determine the minimum whole-number of turns the coil should have to meet the voltage specification. (ii) For this number of turns, calculate the rotational speed of the rotor in revolutions per minute (rpm).
