Problem

Three resistors of 2 Ω, 4 Ω and 6 Ω are connected in parallel to an ideal dc source. The total current drawn from the source is 10 A. (i) Calculate the potential difference across the parallel network. (ii) Determine the current through each resistor. (iii) Find the power dissipated in the 6 Ω resistor. (iv) If the 4 Ω resistor is disconnected while the supply voltage remains unchanged, calculate the new current drawn from the source.
