Problem

A colourless water soluble solid 'X' on heating gives equimolar quantities of Y and Z. Y gives dense white fumes HCl and Z does so with NH3\text{NH}_3 . Y gives brown precipitate with Nessler's reagent and Z gives white precipitate with nitrates of Ag+\text{Ag}^+ , Pb2+\text{Pb}^{2+} and Hg+\text{Hg}^+ . 'X' is: (1) NH4Cl\text{NH}_4\text{Cl} (2) NH4NO3\text{NH}_4\text{NO}_3 (3) NH4NO2\text{NH}_4\text{NO}_2 (4) FeSO4\text{FeSO}_4
