Problem

Mars has mass MMars=6.417×1023 kgM_{\rm Mars} = 6.417\times10^{23}\ \mathrm{kg} and rotates once (relative to the stars) in TMars=24.6229 hoursT_{\rm Mars} = 24.6229\ \mathrm{hours}. Treat Mars as spherically symmetric and use GN=6.674×10−11 N m2 kg−2G_{\rm N} = 6.674\times10^{-11}\ \mathrm{N\,m^2\,kg^{-2}}. Find the radius, measured from Mars's centre, of the circle in the equatorial plane at which the rotating-frame effective potential VrotV_{\rm rot} of a body co-rotating with Mars is stationary.
