Problem

A welded steel I-beam has overall depth h=200 mmh = 200\,\mathrm{mm}, with a top flange and a bottom flange each b=100 mmb = 100\,\mathrm{mm} wide and tf=12 mmt_f = 12\,\mathrm{mm} thick, and a web of thickness tw=12 mmt_w = 12\,\mathrm{mm} filling the space between the flanges. The cross-section is symmetric about its mid-depth. Find the second moment of area II about the centroidal (horizontal) axis.
