Problem

Aluminium is a face-centred cubic metal (Chapter 1), with molar mass Mmol=26.98 g mol−1M_{\rm mol}=26.98\,\mathrm{g\,mol^{-1}} and measured density ρ=2.70 g cm−3\rho=2.70\,\mathrm{g\,cm^{-3}}. Use Chapter 1's density-from-structure relation to find its lattice constant aa, then use this chapter's cubic spacing formula to find d111d_{111}.
