A tight-binding chain has hopping integral t=0.50 eVt = 0.50\ \mathrm{eV} and spacing a=4.20 A˚a = 4.20\ \mathrm{\mathring{A}}. Find the effective mass at the bottom of the band, in units of the free electron mass mm.
