Problem

A hypothetical face-centred cubic metal has lattice constant a=3.60 A˚a = 3.60\ \mathrm{\mathring{A}} and three valence electrons per atom, split across its bands exactly as aluminium's are: the first band completely full, the second holding 0.900.90 electrons per atom and the third 0.100.10 (out of two places per atom in each). Predict the sign of the strong-field Hall coefficient and find its size.
