Problem

The chapter's own symmetric silicon junction, doped at Na=Nd=1.0×1017 cm−3N_a=N_d=1.0\times10^{17}\,\mathrm{cm^{-3}}, has Vbi=0.833 VV_{\rm bi}=0.833\ \mathrm{V} and, at zero bias, Wd=147 nmW_d=147\ \mathrm{nm}. Find the depletion width and the peak field when the junction carries a 3.0 V3.0\ \mathrm{V} reverse bias.
