Problem
The chapter states that holes crossing the junction "add a term of the same form" to the diode equation, without deriving it. Following the same barrier-counting argument used there for electrons, but applied to holes crossing from p to n, derive the hole contribution to the current, and show that the total saturation current is simply I0=I0,n+I0,p, the sum of the two independent contributions.
