Problem

For each level below, state whether an electric quadrupole hyperfine shift (BhfsB_{\rm hfs}) is possible, giving the reason from the rank-two rule. ((a)) Hydrogen's 2P3/22P_{3/2} level (I=1/2I = 1/2, J=3/2J = 3/2). ((b)) Deuterium's 2S1/22S_{1/2} level (I=1I = 1, J=1/2J = 1/2). ((c)) An excited level of 23Na^{23}\mathrm{Na} with I=3/2I = 3/2 and J=2J = 2. ((d)) An excited level of 16O^{16}\mathrm{O} with I=0I = 0 and J=5/2J = 5/2.
