Deriving the Spectrum, Ch Many-electron terms, levels and Hund's rules

Problem

The ion Ti2+\mathrm{Ti}^{2+} has the ground configuration 3d23d^2. The same (ML,MS)(M_L,M_S) counting method used for two pp electrons, extended to two dd electrons (l=2l=2), gives the terms 1S^1S, 3P^3P, 1D^1D, 3F^3F, 1G^1G. ((a)) Verify that these terms account for the full number of Pauli-allowed states of 3d23d^2. ((b)) Apply Hund's rules to find the ground level.
