Problem

Four point charges sit at the corners of a square of side a=4.0 cma = 4.0\,\mathrm{cm} in vacuum, all held fixed. Take the corner OO as the origin, with the square's sides along +x+x and +y+y. A charge q0=+2.0 nCq_0 = +2.0\,\mathrm{nC} sits at O=(0,0)O = (0, 0), qA=+5.0 nCq_A = +5.0\,\mathrm{nC} at A=(0,a)A = (0, a), qB=+5.0 nCq_B = +5.0\,\mathrm{nC} at B=(a,0)B = (a, 0), and qC=−5.0 nCq_C = -5.0\,\mathrm{nC} at the opposite corner C=(a,a)C = (a, a). ((a)) Find the xx and yy components of the net force on q0q_0. ((b)) Find the size of that force and describe its direction. ((c)) The charge at CC is replaced by a different charge. What charge at CC would make the net force on q0q_0 zero?
