Problem

A single point charge q=+5.0 nCq = +5.0\ \mathrm{nC} sits in vacuum, 5.0 cm5.0\ \mathrm{cm} from the centre OO of an imaginary closed spherical surface of radius 12.0 cm12.0\ \mathrm{cm} (outward normal). There is no other charge anywhere. ((a)) Find the electric flux ΦE\Phi_E out of the sphere. ((b)) Find the field magnitude at the point of the sphere nearest the charge. ((c)) Find the field magnitude at the point of the sphere farthest from the charge. Then say, with a reason, whether the field on this sphere can be obtained by dividing your answer to (a) by the sphere's area.
