Problem

A 10 μF10\,\mathrm{\mu F} capacitor is charged to 15 V15\,\mathrm{V}. At t=0t = 0 an ideal switch connects it directly across a 1 kΩ1\,\mathrm{k\Omega} resistor, so that it discharges. ((a)) State the time constant τ\tau of the discharge. ((b)) Find the capacitor voltage at t=20 mst = 20\,\mathrm{ms}. ((c)) Find the total energy dissipated in the resistor as the capacitor discharges completely.
