Problem

A resistor R=8.0 ΩR = 8.0\,\Omega is connected in parallel with a capacitor C=100 μFC = 100\,\mu\mathrm F. An ideal sinusoidal source of 20 V20\,\mathrm V rms at 1.0 kHz1.0\,\mathrm{kHz} drives this parallel combination directly. ((a)) Write the capacitor's impedance ZCZ_C at 1.0 kHz1.0\,\mathrm{kHz} in polar form. ((b)) Combine RR and ZCZ_C in parallel and give the result ZZ in polar form, using the polar rules for multiplying and dividing complex numbers. ((c)) Find the average power delivered by the source to this network.
