Problem

A signal generator has an internal source resistance of 50 Ω50\,\Omega and its front-panel display assumes an open-circuit load. It is set to display 2.00 V2.00\,\mathrm{V} and then connected to a load of 75 Ω75\,\Omega. ((a)) Draw the generator as an ideal voltage source in series with its 50 Ω50\,\Omega output resistance, feeding the 75 Ω75\,\Omega load, and state what voltage the displayed 2.00 V2.00\,\mathrm{V} represents. ((b)) Calculate the voltage actually delivered across the 75 Ω75\,\Omega load.
