Problem

A digital board carries 4040 flip-flops, each with an average load (its own gate capacitance plus the wiring and fan-out it drives) of about 5 pF5\,\mathrm{pF}. The board is clocked at 25 MHz25\,\mathrm{MHz} from a 3.3 V3.3\,\mathrm{V} supply, and on average each node charges from low to high on half of the clock cycles (activity factor α=0.5\alpha = 0.5). ((a)) Estimate the total dynamic supply current drawn by these nodes. ((b)) Estimate the total dynamic power dissipated.
