Problem

A digital difference filter used to flag sudden changes in a sensor reading has impulse response h[0]=1h[0] = 1, h[1]=−1h[1] = -1 (zero for every other kk). A record of three consecutive samples from the sensor is x[0]=2x[0] = 2, x[1]=4x[1] = 4, x[2]=2x[2] = 2 millivolts (zero for every other kk). ((a)) Calculate the output sequence y[k]=x[k]∗h[k]y[k] = x[k] * h[k] for every kk where it is non-zero. ((b)) State which values of y[k]y[k] correspond to the sensor reading increasing between samples and which correspond to it decreasing.
