Problem

A photodiode signal, after conversion by a transimpedance stage, is modelled as a rectangular voltage pulse vin(t)=3 Vv_{in}(t) = 3\,\mathrm{V} for 0≤t≤2 μs0 \le t \le 2\,\mathrm{\mu s} and zero otherwise. This pulse drives an RC low-pass filter with RC=1 μsRC = 1\,\mathrm{\mu s}, whose impulse response is h(t)=(1/RC)e−t/RCh(t) = (1/RC)e^{-t/RC} for t≥0t \ge 0 and zero for t<0t < 0. The filter is at rest before t=0t=0. Using the convolution integral, calculate the output voltage vout(t)v_{out}(t) at t=1 μst = 1\,\mathrm{\mu s}, 2 μs2\,\mathrm{\mu s} and 4 μs4\,\mathrm{\mu s}.
