Problem

An ideal simple Rankine cycle has the following specific enthalpies read from steam tables: condensate leaving the condenser h1=140.0 kJ kg−1h_1 = 140.0\,\mathrm{kJ\,kg^{-1}}, after the feed pump h2=163.0 kJ kg−1h_2 = 163.0\,\mathrm{kJ\,kg^{-1}}, steam entering the turbine h3=3450 kJ kg−1h_3 = 3450\,\mathrm{kJ\,kg^{-1}}, and steam leaving the turbine h4=2005 kJ kg−1h_4 = 2005\,\mathrm{kJ\,kg^{-1}}. The pump and turbine are ideal (reversible and adiabatic). ((a)) Compute the turbine work, the pump work, and the heat taken in per unit mass. ((b)) Compute the cycle efficiency.
