Problem
A copper electrorefining cell operates on the half-reaction Cu2++2e−→Cu, with z=2 electrons transferred. During operation copper dissolves at the anode, and the Cu2+ concentration next to it rises to five times its initial value. Treating the activity of Cu2+ as proportional to its concentration, and taking the cell temperature as 298K, find the resulting shift in that electrode's equilibrium potential.
