Problem

Air (ρ=1.20 kg m−3\rho = 1.20\,\mathrm{kg\,m^{-3}}) flows past a smooth sphere of radius a=0.30 ma = 0.30\,\mathrm{m} at far-upstream speed U=15 m s−1U = 15\,\mathrm{m\,s^{-1}} and pressure p∞=1.013×105 Pap_\infty = 1.013\times10^5\,\mathrm{Pa}. Assume the flow is potential (irrotational, inviscid, incompressible) up to the point of interest. ((a)) Find the surface speed at θ=60∘\theta = 60^{\circ} from the front stagnation point. ((b)) Find CpC_p there and the absolute pressure.
