Problem

A rotating-cylinder viscometer has inner radius R1=15 mmR_1 = 15\,\mathrm{mm} (held fixed) and outer radius R2=16 mmR_2 = 16\,\mathrm{mm}, filled to a height h=40 mmh = 40\,\mathrm{mm} with an unknown syrup. The outer cylinder is driven at Ω2=5 rad s−1\Omega_2 = 5\,\mathrm{rad\,s^{-1}} and the torque needed to hold the inner cylinder still is measured as T=0.020 N mT = 0.020\,\mathrm{N\,m}. Assume steady circular Couette flow fills the gap. Find the viscosity μ\mu of the syrup.
