Problem

A spherical droplet of clean water of radius R=0.40R = 0.40 mm hangs in air. The surface tension of water against air is γ=0.072\gamma = 0.072 N m−1^{-1} and the atmospheric pressure outside the droplet is 1.013×1051.013\times10^{5} Pa. The droplet has a single liquid-air surface, and gravity is ignored in shaping it. ((a)) Find the pressure jump across the droplet's surface. ((b)) Find the absolute pressure of the water just inside the surface.
