Problem

A cylindrical bucket of inner radius 12 cm12\ \mathrm{cm} contains water and is spun steadily about its vertical axis at 1.51.5 revolutions per second. The water has been turning long enough to rotate with the bucket as a rigid body; it is incompressible and inviscid, and the air above the free surface is at atmospheric pressure. Take g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\ \mathrm{m\ s^{-2}}. How high above the lowest point of the free surface (the vertex on the axis) does the surface stand at the wall?
