Problem

A single-particle cryo-EM reconstruction is checked by splitting the data into two independent half-maps and computing the Fourier shell correlation (FSC) between them as a function of spatial frequency qq. Data as pairs (qq in nm−1\mathrm{nm^{-1}}, FSC): (0.10,0.98)(0.10, 0.98), (0.15,0.85)(0.15, 0.85), (0.20,0.60)(0.20, 0.60), (0.25,0.35)(0.25, 0.35), (0.30,0.18)(0.30, 0.18), (0.32,0.143)(0.32, 0.143), (0.35,0.08)(0.35, 0.08). ((a)) Using the standard 0.1430.143 threshold, read off the spatial frequency at which the map's resolution is set. ((b)) Convert this spatial frequency into a real-space resolution in nanometres.
