Problem

A bandgap cell runs its two transistors at a current-density ratio n=16n = 16. At 300 K300\,\mathrm{K}, where VT=25.9 mVV_T = 25.9\,\mathrm{mV}, the transistor whose VBEV_{BE} enters the sum has VBE=0.62 VV_{BE} = 0.62\,\mathrm{V}, falling at 1.9 mV K−11.9\,\mathrm{mV\,K^{-1}}. ((a)) Find ΔVBE\Delta V_{BE} and its temperature slope. ((b)) Find the multiple KK that cancels the first-order drift of Vref=VBE+KΔVBEV_{\rm ref} = V_{BE} + K\Delta V_{BE}. ((c)) Find VrefV_{\rm ref}, and compare it with VBEV_{BE} extrapolated along its straight line to T=0T = 0.
