Problem

A workplace contact network is modelled as an Erdos-Renyi random graph with mean degree ⟨k⟩=6\langle k\rangle = 6. An infection has transmission rate β=0.05 day−1\beta = 0.05\ \mathrm{day^{-1}} per contact and a constant recovery rate μ=0.2 day−1\mu = 0.2\ \mathrm{day^{-1}}. ((a)) Find the transmissibility TT of one edge. ((b)) Find the epidemic threshold TcT_{\rm c} of the network in the locally tree-like approximation. ((c)) State whether a single case is expected to be able to start a major outbreak, giving the reason.
