Problem

A square-wave voltage generator has amplitude A=6.0 VA = 6.0\,\mathrm{V} (a jump of 2A=12.0 V2A = 12.0\,\mathrm{V} at each edge) and period L=2.0 msL = 2.0\,\mathrm{ms}. For this waveform, the peak of the Fourier partial sum beside the jump, using NN non-zero terms, occurs at x=L/(4N)x = L/(4N) with height 1.188A1.188A for N=3N=3 and 1.179A1.179A for N=49N=49. ((a)) Find the peak voltage and its position for the N=3N=3 partial sum. ((b)) Find the peak voltage and its position for the N=49N=49 partial sum.
