Problem
A batch of N=200 diodes is tested. Each diode is defective, independently of the others, with probability p=0.030.
((a)) State which distribution exactly models the number of defective diodes in the batch, and say whether the Poisson distribution is expected to be a good approximation to it here, and why.
((b)) Compute the exact probability that none of the 200 diodes is defective, and compare it with the Poisson approximation of the same mean.
