Problem

The specific heat capacity cc of a substance is defined by Q=mcΔTQ = mc\Delta T, where QQ is the heat energy supplied, mm the mass and ΔT\Delta T the temperature rise. ((a)) Write dim⁡(c)\dim(c) in terms of the base dimensions. ((b)) An immersion heater of power PP heats a mass mm of water for a time tt; the temperature rise is quoted as ΔT=Pt/(mc)\Delta T = Pt/(mc). Check whether this is dimensionally homogeneous.
