Problem

A bench multimeter on its 20.00 V20.00\,\mathrm{V} range resolves 0.01 V0.01\,\mathrm{V}, so one "digit" =0.01 V= 0.01\,\mathrm{V}. Its specification is ±(0.8% of reading+3 digits)\pm(0.8\%\ \mathrm{of\ reading} + 3\ \mathrm{digits}). Find the uncertainty interval, in volts and as a percentage of the reading, for each of the following readings taken on this range: ((a)) 18.65 V18.65\,\mathrm{V} ((b)) 5.20 V5.20\,\mathrm{V} ((c)) 0.45 V0.45\,\mathrm{V}
