Problem

A digital multimeter reads a steady voltage six times (V): 5.02, 5.04, 5.03, 5.05, 5.03, 5.045.02,\ 5.04,\ 5.03,\ 5.05,\ 5.03,\ 5.04. ((a)) Evaluate the Type A standard uncertainty of the mean voltage, with its degrees of freedom. ((b)) The multimeter's specification states an accuracy of ±0.5\pm0.5 per cent of reading, with nothing favouring the middle of that interval. Using the mean voltage from part (a), evaluate the Type B standard uncertainty this specification contributes to a single reading, naming the distribution assumed.
