Problem

A 75 Ω75\,\Omega transmission line is to be matched, at 100 MHz100\,\mathrm{MHz}, to a purely resistive antenna load of 300 Ω300\,\Omega using a quarter-wave transformer section. The transformer section is filled with the same dielectric as the main line, in which waves travel at 2.0×108 m s−12.0\times10^{8}\,\mathrm{m\,s^{-1}}. ((a)) Find the characteristic impedance ZtZ_{\rm t} the transformer section must have. ((b)) Find the physical length of the transformer section.
