Problem

A radio burst from a distant source is detected in two frequency channels. Its arrival at 0.80 GHz0.80\,\mathrm{GHz} is 50 ms50\,\mathrm{ms} later than its arrival at 1.60 GHz1.60\,\mathrm{GHz}. Using Δt=4.149 ms×DM×(f1−2−f2−2)\Delta t = 4.149\,\mathrm{ms}\times\mathrm{DM}\times(f_1^{-2} - f_2^{-2}) with DM\mathrm{DM} in pc cm−3\mathrm{pc\,cm^{-3}} and f1<f2f_1 < f_2 in GHz\mathrm{GHz}, find the dispersion measure of the path.
