Problem

A stamp collector wants a simple magnifier that gives an angular magnification of exactly 8.08.0 with the eye relaxed, that is with the stamp at the front focal point of a thin converging lens and the image at infinity. Take the standard near point d0=250d_0 = 250 mm and assume the eye is at the lens. ((a)) What focal length must the lens have? ((b)) What angular magnification would the same lens give if instead the image were formed at the near point?
