Problem

A printed plot shows rsr_s and rpr_p against θi\theta_i for light going from crown glass (ni=1.50n_i = 1.50) into air (nt=1.00n_t = 1.00), plotted only up to the critical angle (41.8∘41.8^\circ), under convention CV5. Two marked points read from the curves: At θi=20∘\theta_i = 20^\circ: rs=+0.24r_s = +0.24, rp=+0.16r_p = +0.16. At θi=35∘\theta_i = 35^\circ: rs=+0.41r_s = +0.41, rp=−0.03r_p = -0.03. ((a)) Find Rs\mathcal{R}_s and Rp\mathcal{R}_p at each angle. ((b)) State the sign of each of the four coefficients. ((c)) Using Brewster's angle for glass to air, say which of the four reflections carry a phase change of π\pi.
