Problem

Linearly polarised light of irradiance I0=100 W m−2I_0 = 100\ \text{W m}^{-2} arrives with its plane of polarisation exactly along the transmission axis of the first of three ideal linear polarising sheets. The three sheets have their transmission axes at 0∘0^\circ, 35∘35^\circ and 90∘90^\circ measured from the incoming polarisation direction, in that order along the beam. Find the irradiance transmitted by the third sheet.
